How to Convert Ac supply into Dc supply. 4 Easy Steps with diagrams.

Item your will need:

Breadboard
Step down Transformer

Zener Diode
Wires

Leds

Capacitor
Bridger Diode

Resistor
Multimeter

Step 1:

As we know, our wall output gives 220 volt (approximately) so it is difficult to work on led or any other DC component which is used in electronics. We use DC conversion method to convert AC into DC.
First of all we need a step down transformer of 10:1. Two wires of different colors which are already attached in transformer. The voltage decreased by transformer is transferred by these wires. The input goes in the other two wires on other side of transformer of same color.

Step 2:

Now the decreased voltage that we get from the transformer will be approximately equal to 12 volts. Now these 12V will be plugged in bridge diodes. One in + and other in - . This bridge diode will convert this 12V into the pulsuting DC. There are different types of diodes available in market, but bridge diode is a good selection for your circuit to simulate easily.

Step 3:

This pulsuting DC gives current in ripples which are regulated by a capacitor. Now DC from positive side will be connected with the positive (+) of the capacitor and the negative (-) terminal of the capacitor will be connected with the ground. Now this 12V will be purified by the capacitor. This DC voltage is pure to use but, its voltage will be higher from your led range (as led need 2.5V) so we use zener diode to regulate the voltage upto 5V.

Step 4:

Now these 5V are also not in the range of led so we use a resistor in series to decrease the voltage upto 2.5V. Now you can connect this 2.5V with positive of led and other terminal of led will be connected with the ground.
